Rachel, these pictures are beautiful!  Thank you so much!!!!  I can’t even think of words to describe my excitement and appreciation!  I’m blown away…We (Josh, Isaac, and I) just took a few minutes to review the gallery.  I think I had a smile on my face the whole time.  There’s a picture of the 3 of us that I loved (I love them all!) and Josh said…’it really just shows Isaac’s ‘Tater-ness’ ‘(nickname)…  and he was so right!  We have a frozen moment of us just being us (but pretty and well dressed).

As a mother of three young children, photo sessions are usually something I dread, but not with Rachel as our photographer! Rachel made the photo session fun and was endlessly patient with the kids. She has a wonderful artistic sensibility and came up with some great creative poses and candid shots that showcased the uniqueness of our family. I’ve also worked with Rachel in a professional manner when we were on a magazine assignment together, I as the writer and she as the photographer. Her visual interpretation of the subject matter brought the story to life and even gave me inspiration as a writer. Rachel Shumate’s creative talents are showcased through her fine art prints, family portraits, and various other photography products, all of which I am proud to own. When taking my daughter’s senior pictures, Rachel superbly captured the essence of her personality through the selection of the poses, props, and lighting she used to create the images. I am obviously biased as her mother, but I believe my daughter’s senior pictures are the best I have seen due to the quality and expertise of Rachel’s work.

Two of my favorite fine art prints that I have framed and matted are photographs of a tree and a building. Even though these are objects we see every day of our lives, Rachel’s unique perspective gave them a life and personality which exquisitely reflects their subtle beauty. In check out lines I frequently receive compliments on the two canvas tote bags I own that have Rachel’s nature photographs printed on the front pockets (these make awesome gifts).
